The 19th century Gothic-style mansion, which has been renovated over the last two decades, is three stories and spans 16,000 square feet.

The purchase is the latest example of how tech billionaires have been expanding their real estate holdings outside California. Zuckerberg previously bought property in Hawaii and paid $23 million in cash for a 15,000-square-foot mansion in Washington D.C.

But the tech mogul still has a lot of property in California, the state that houses Meta’s main headquarters.

Zuckerberg spent more than $110 million buying up at least 11 homes in the affluent neighborhood of Crescent Park in Palo Alto, irking some of his neighbors, the New York Times reported. In 2022, he sold his San Francisco home for $31 million. Zuckerberg, who has shown off his hydrofoiling skills on social media, also has a massive compound in Lake Tahoe.

Zuckerberg has shown interest in classical history, even naming his daughters after Roman emperors.

His latest purchase, the lavish Strancally Castle, was built around 1830 for a former member of Parliament, John Keily, the Irish Times reported. Overlooking the River Blackwater, the main house was designed by architects James and George Richard Pain, who also worked on other Irish castles.

Zuckerberg’s family purchased the property from Michael Alen-Buckley, the co-founder of RAB Capital, and his wife, Giancarla Alen-Buckley. The couple told the Irish Times in a statement that they’re “delighted” that Zuckerberg and his family will continue to invest in the property and maintain it.

“We wish them and their family much happiness in this unique and blessed place,” the couple said in the statement.

Zuckerberg runs Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

As of Thursday, his net worth totaled more than $195 billion, making him the world’s seventh-richest person, according to Bloomberg.

Meta Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg’s latest home purchase appears fit for a billionaire who runs the world’s largest…

[154
544,47562,2935,77,10609,87914,88098,88452,88454,618,994,8568,88453,884,87446
post-197952","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mark-zuckerberg","tag-california","tag-couple","tag-facebook","tag-family","tag-ireland","tag-irish-castle","tag-irish-times","tag-large-social-medium-empire","tag-late-home-purchase","tag-mark-zuckerberg","tag-meta","tag-property","tag-spokesman","tag-statement","tag-strancally-castle
["GET
