Reports say that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos<\/a> and his wife, Lauren Sanchez, are still waiting to gain entry into the exclusive Indian Creek Country Club.<\/p>\n

Despite being one of the richest men in the world, Bezos will need more than his wealth to gain access to the club.<\/p>\n

Even so, the couple may have little cause for concern. Page Six<\/a> reports that they may simply need to put in more effort to secure membership.<\/p>\n

In an article<\/a> titled “The Rich and Famous Who Can’t Get Into Miami’s Most Exclusive Country Club,” The Wall Street Journal reported that extreme wealth may actually work against some applicants. The article says, “The old guard\u2014many of them retirees\u2014are mounting a last stand against what they often view as billionaire interlopers.” It also states that “too much wealth or notoriety has become a deterrent, as wealthy new applicants arriving in Florida are learning.”<\/p>\n

However, a source said the couple will most likely get in if they make the right moves. In 2023, Bezos bought property on the “Billionaire Bunker.” He now owns three properties on the island between Bal Harbour and Miami Beach. The properties are reportedly worth about $234 million combined.<\/p>\n

According to the WSJ, Bezos and Sanchez have already started building connections. The high-profile couple met and mingled with club members at an annual dock party in February. “No one is going to make it easy because he is Jeff Bezos<\/a>,” a source said. “You have to go to mixers. You don’t just move there and think you can get in. For anyone.”<\/p>\n

“There aren’t that many golf clubs [in Miami] and there is huge demand,” the source added. “It’s very hard to get into any of them, but Indian Creek is the hardest.”<\/p>\n

Sources said the couple will need to build relationships with the famously private club members to gain entry. The club’s members reportedly do not socialize spontaneously, which could make that process more challenging.<\/p>\n
