But <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/tag\/jensen-huang\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/tag\/jensen-huang\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jensen Huang<\/a>, the CEO of $4.26 trillion chip giant <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/tag\/nvidia\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/tag\/nvidia\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nvidia<\/a>, offered a reassuring message for professionals who believe their roles are on the line.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[What] I want to make sure we all do, is to recognize that people are really worried about their jobs,\u201d Huang <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vif8NQcjVf0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vif8NQcjVf0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recently said<\/a> on the Lex Fridman Podcast. \u201cI just want to remind them that the purpose of your job, and the tasks and tools that you use to do your job, are related, not the same.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Workers are understandably stressed over their employers <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/03\/26\/meta-ai-data-center-hyperion-louisiana\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/03\/26\/meta-ai-data-center-hyperion-louisiana\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">investing billions into AI<\/a>, as <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/02\/27\/block-jack-dorsey-ceo-xyz-stock-square-4000-ai-layoffs\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/02\/27\/block-jack-dorsey-ceo-xyz-stock-square-4000-ai-layoffs\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">layoffs sweep<\/a> tech companies, and <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/03\/19\/jensen-huang-nvidia-ai-agents-future-of-work-autonomous\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/03\/19\/jensen-huang-nvidia-ai-agents-future-of-work-autonomous\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AI agents are<\/a> positioned as humans\u2019 new coworkers. Leaders like <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/google-deepmind\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/google-deepmind\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Google DeepMind<\/a>\u2019s <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/ranking\/worlds-greatest-leaders\/2021\/demis-hassabis\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/ranking\/worlds-greatest-leaders\/2021\/demis-hassabis\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Demis Hassabis<\/a> and <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/uber-technologies\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/uber-technologies\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Uber<\/a> cofounder <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/03\/19\/uber-cofounder-travis-kalanick-white-pill-ai-job-disruption-humans-super-fine-agi-steps-into-picture\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/03\/19\/uber-cofounder-travis-kalanick-white-pill-ai-job-disruption-humans-super-fine-agi-steps-into-picture\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Travis Kalanick<\/a> have even <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/03\/18\/google-deepmind-ceo-demis-hassabis-agi-outsmart-human-workers-job-replacement-ai\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/03\/18\/google-deepmind-ceo-demis-hassabis-agi-outsmart-human-workers-job-replacement-ai\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">predicted that when<\/a> artificial general intelligence (AGI) reaches maturity, the tools will be just as capable as people\u2014and <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/03\/30\/agi-definition-jensen-huang-lex-fridman-deepmind-turing-text-cognitive-taxonomy\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/03\/30\/agi-definition-jensen-huang-lex-fridman-deepmind-turing-text-cognitive-taxonomy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Huang said<\/a> \u201cwe\u2019ve already achieved\u201d the feat.<\/p>\n<p>However, Huang\u2019s not convinced that AGI will cause a jobs reckoning, just like previous tech transformations weren\u2019t able to snatch his job.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m the longest-running tech CEO in the world, 34 years,\u201d he continued. \u201cThe tools that I\u2019ve used to do my job have changed continuously in the last 34 years, and sometimes quite dramatically.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/nvidia\/\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/nvidia\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Nvidia<\/a> CEO\u2019s prime example of AI supercharging jobs: radiologists\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Huang explained his reasoning through a job paradox he\u2019s witnessed in the era of AI: the fate of <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/videos\/watch\/how-watson-can-help-radiologists\/96f54853-fb56-4cd3-86a7-7bffa948d10b\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/videos\/watch\/how-watson-can-help-radiologists\/96f54853-fb56-4cd3-86a7-7bffa948d10b\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">radiologists<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Nvidia leader said that computer scientists predicted that the first job to be automated by AI would be radiology, since computer vision was going to reach \u201csuperhuman levels\u201d thanks to the advanced tech. Around 2020 the tools became that powerful, Huang pointed out, and \u201cevery radiology platform and package today is driven by AI\u201d\u2014yet the number of radiologists has grown.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now, humans can study scans faster, diagnose better, and see more patients, requiring a bigger workforce of people to keep up with soaring demand.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, that preemptive forecast may have deterred some people from going into radiology, Huang noted, and it\u2019s led to a \u201cshortage\u201d of humans in the field. He highlights it as a prime example of how the narrative went to an extreme\u2014and illuminates the fact that AI is a part of how workers do their jobs, and is not the bottom line.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe alarmist warning went too far, and it scared people from doing this profession that is so important to society,\u201d Huang <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vif8NQcjVf0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vif8NQcjVf0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said during the podcast<\/a>. \u201cIt did harm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The CEOs who say AI will supercharge work, not replace it\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Huang has long been outspoken about the ramifications of AI on the workforce, saying that the tools won\u2019t take over jobs in droves. Instead, tech-savvy humans will have the upper-hand on those who resist it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery job will be affected, and immediately. It is unquestionable,\u201d Huang said at the Milken Institute\u2019s Global Conference <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/05\/29\/billionaire-nvidia-ceo-jensen-huang-ai-replace-jobs-if-technology-not-embraced\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/05\/29\/billionaire-nvidia-ceo-jensen-huang-ai-replace-jobs-if-technology-not-embraced\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">last year<\/a>. \u201cYou\u2019re not going to lose your job to an AI, but you\u2019re going to lose your job to someone who uses AI.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And he\u2019s not the only one taking that stance. <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/airbnb\/\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/airbnb\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Airbnb<\/a> CEO Brian Chesky <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/02\/17\/airbnb-ceo-brian-chesky-says-ai-best-thing-ever-happened-company-warns-other-founders-get-onboard-or-else\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/02\/17\/airbnb-ceo-brian-chesky-says-ai-best-thing-ever-happened-company-warns-other-founders-get-onboard-or-else\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">also predicted that<\/a> founder-led companies open to change\u2014like the $76.6 billion business he\u2019s helming\u2014will benefit from the AI transformation. Those who snub the technology will be outpaced by those who embrace it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom a business standpoint, I think AI is the best thing that ever happened to Airbnb,\u201d Chesky told CNBC <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TwiVY3M_W0E\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TwiVY3M_W0E\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in an interview<\/a> earlier this year, adding that \u201cIf you don\u2019t change, you\u2019re going to be disrupted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon has conceded that AI \u201cwill eliminate jobs,\u201d but echoing Huang and Chesky, also stressed the importance of humans getting on the AI bandwagon. Just like any other tech transformation, there are sure to be growing pains\u2014but people can better their chances by adding AI to their arsenal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think people should stop sticking their heads in the sand,\u201d Dimon told Fortune last year. \u201cSo, use it.
