Dr. Abdul El-Sayed mocked Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth during an appearance on Fox News, referring to him as “the sixth host” on the network’s five-host show, The Five.<\/p>\n
El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan, joined Monday’s Jesse Watters Primetime, where he tangled with the host for about 25 minutes on a variety of topics, including the federal budget. At one point, Jesse Watters asked El-Sayed if he knows how much the budget currently is.<\/p>\n
“I don’t want you guys to blow the country up,” Watters said of El-Sayed’s support of Medicare for All. “Do you know how much the federal budget is now?”<\/p>\n
“Pete Hegseth\u2013” El-Sayed began as Watters interrupted.<\/p>\n
“Abdul, answer the question,” the host demanded. “Do you know how much it is?”<\/p>\n
El-Sayed dodged the question and went in on Hegseth, who, with President Donald Trump, is requesting $1.5 trillion<\/a> for the Pentagon. The candidate noted that Hegseth is a former Fox News pundit, albeit not a particularly prominent one:<\/p>\n I just want to talk about this. You wanna talk about budgets. I’m happy to do that. The guy who used to work on your channel, I think he was like the sixth host on The Five. He wanted to raise our military budget to $1.5 trillion, and you don’t seem to be upset about that. What? So we could fight we don’t know how to get out of, to raise our gas prices $5 a gallon?
