A recent review of my Bible found no mention of Speaker of the House Mike Johnson. Additionally I have found no mention of Johnson being elevated to sainthood by any church. Yet in their infinite wisdom the State of Louisiana decided to take a sacred document, the Ten Commandments, and give approval to poster designers to put a picture of Moses, the holy figure who delivered the document from God, alongside Mike Johnson, a minion of Donald Trump, on those mandated to be hung in every public school.<\/p>\n
Just how much more sacrilegious could this possibly be? Mike Johnson has absolutely no connection with this pious document.<\/p>\n
By juxtaposing Johnson with Moses, the designers of this poster are elevating Johnson to the same divine power as Moses.<\/p>\n
And since these posters were donated by the Louisiana Family Forum, a conservative advocacy group claiming to promote “biblical principles,” one has to question their true motive in associating a political party reference with “biblical principles.”<\/p>\n
It smacks of nothing more than preying on individuals’ religious beliefs to promote a political agenda. Obviously, a new low for dirty politics in Louisiana. And let’s not even talk about the mixing of church and state, for the lawyers will have a field day with this gift on a silver platter.<\/p>\n
Perhaps this group needs a refresher course on the religious significance of the Ten Commandments and their true meaning, particularly the third one regarding graven images.<\/p>\n
