{"id":213822,"date":"2026-09-03T21:25:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T21:25:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/213822\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T21:25:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T21:25:09","slug":"probe-launched-into-ex-prime-minister-over-remarks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/213822\/","title":{"rendered":"Probe launched into ex-prime minister over remarks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            ANKARA<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/6a996d865548acce71250f63.jpg\" alt=\"Probe launched into ex-prime minister over remarks\"\/>                <\/p>\n<p class=\"image-description\">Former Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto\u011flu, who also was the chairman of the Future Party (AA Photo)<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors on Sept. 3 announced they opened an <a title=\"investigation \" href=\"https:\/\/www.hurriyetdailynews.com\/index\/investigation\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">investigation <\/a>of former Prime Minister <a title=\"Ahmet Davuto\u011flu\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hurriyetdailynews.com\/index\/ahmet-davutoglu\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ahmet Davuto\u011flu<\/a>, who also ran the <a title=\"Future Party\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hurriyetdailynews.com\/index\/future-party\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Future Party<\/a>, for allegedly insulting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, prosecutors in the capital Ankara said the probe was opened following comments that Davuto\u011flu, 67, shared on social media that were viewed as insulting to the president.<\/p>\n<p>According to media reports, the investigation concerns remarks made by Davuto\u011flu during a visit to the southeastern province of Diyarbak\u0131r in 2022.
