The image comes just a week after President Trump <\/a>signed an executive order to change the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America<\/a>, amid a bitter trade war between the U.S. and Canada<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u200bEric, who did not caption the image<\/a>, has repeatedly defended the president\u2019s controversial decision on social media.<\/p>\n \u200bHowever, users on X have slammed the Trump scion for sharing the picture of himself wearing the hat.<\/p>\n \u200bNew York Governor Kathy Hochul\u2019s<\/a> press office was just one of the accounts to post a reply mocking Eric\u2019s picture.<\/p>\n \u200bHochul\u2019s office posted an image<\/a> of Succession character Logan Roy glowering at his son. The show follows Roy\u2019s children as they compete to be named as the future CEO of their father\u2019s company.<\/p>\n \u200bHochul\u2019s office has previously mocked Eric through references to Succession, responding to a post shared by Trump\u2019s third child about a U.S. passport<\/a> with a screenshot<\/a> from a scene in which Roy tells his children, \u201cYou are not serious people.\u201d<\/p>\n \u200bIn response to Eric\u2019s picture, journalist Harrison Lowman posted<\/a>: \u201cSoon to be available at the Oval office (sic) merch shop no doubt.\u201d<\/p>\n \u200bOne X user was more blunt in their response<\/a>, \u201cThis helps our grocery bill and the price of f***ing diesel!\u201d<\/p>\n Others even edited the image to change the message printed on the cap. One user made the hat read<\/a>: \u201cLake Ontario.\u201d<\/p>\n Another changed<\/a> the message to read \u201cDelusional,\u201d while a third changed<\/a> the cap\u2019s message to \u201cFake America.\u201d<\/p>\n \u200bTrump signed the order to change the name of Lake Ontario on August 27 amid a trade war with Canada.<\/p>\n \u200bDespite Trump previously announcing that the two countries had reached<\/a> a \u201cDEAL,\u201d the U.S. eventually slapped tariffs on some imports from its northern neighbor with Canada responding with retaliatory tariffs.<\/p>\n \u200bApple Maps<\/a> and Google Maps<\/a> have both changed the name of the body of water to \u201cLake America\u201d for U.S. based users, although rival brand MapQuest has doubled down on calling it by its original name.<\/p>\n \u200b\u201cWe\u2019re not changing it,\u201d a spokesperson for MapQuest posted<\/a> bluntly on X.<\/p>\n \u200bEric replied<\/a>, \u201cShocking to see you\u2019re still alive\u2026 I thought the iPhone 3 took you out 15 years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n \u200bMapQuest has continued to double down on keeping Lake Ontario\u2019s name and has since rocketed to the top of the Apple App Store<\/a>.<\/p>\n![\"Eric](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Screenshot-2026-09-04-at-08-54-19.png\")
