King Charles<\/a> has been as busy as usual on Wednesday with the monarch returning to work<\/a> following the summer break and the return of his son, Prince Harry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After hosting a garden party and meeting with members of the Pakistani cricket team, Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla<\/a>, joined Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron, the President and First Lady of France, at the British Museum.<\/p>\n

The group, who were also accompanied by British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, all headed out to view the Bayeux Tapestry after it was temporarily loaned to Britain. They enjoyed a private viewing of the iconic artwork before an exhibition at the museum opens to the public on 10 September.<\/p>\n

While Charles and Emmanuel looked smart in their suits, their glamorous wives stole the show as they arrived in stylish, matching white dresses.<\/p>\n

Before heading to the British Museum, Charles, Camilla and the Macrons enjoyed tea at Clarence House, the monarch’s residence.<\/p>\n

The French President later shared a glimspe inside their tea at Clarence House, sharing on social media: “Entente amicale, over tea.”<\/p>\n

Both Camilla and Brigitte decided to go for white for their outing. Camilla’s dress came from Anna Valentine and featured striking black embroidery, although she decided against any special jewellery.<\/p>\n

Andy Burnham’s arrival<\/p>\n

Andy Burnham, who faced his first session of PMQs on Wednesday, was joined by his wife, Marie-France van Heel, who also wore a white dress. They were greeted by former Conservative Chancellor, George Osborne.<\/p>\n

The exhibition will open to the public later this month<\/p>\n

Charles later revealed that he and Emmanuel Macron had spoken about the tapestry returning when he and Camilla undertook a state visit to France in 2023.<\/p>\n

“It is a particular joy, therefore, to see the hope become reality,” he noted.<\/p>\n
