{"id":217072,"date":"2026-09-06T07:40:29","date_gmt":"2026-09-06T07:40:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/217072\/"},"modified":"2026-09-06T07:40:29","modified_gmt":"2026-09-06T07:40:29","slug":"von-der-leyen-rutte-say-russian-intimidation-will-not-work-to-stop-ukraine-aid-politico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/217072\/","title":{"rendered":"Von der Leyen, Rutte say Russian \u2018intimidation will not work\u2019 to stop Ukraine aid \u2013 POLITICO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cIf Russia thinks we will be divided by the threat, or if they think we will be deterred from supporting Ukraine, they are mistaken,\u201d NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZwgdQRvWsK8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said<\/a>. \u201cOur unity is unshaken \u2014 our support to Ukraine is clear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He slammed Russia&#8217;s moves as \u201creckless,\u201d describing a series of recent actions including \u201cdrones and missiles\u201d intruding into NATO airspace, \u201cmalign activities\u201d such as fires allegedly set at factories producing defense equipment for Ukraine and Russia&#8217;s \u201chybrid attack\u201d against the east German Leipzig-Halle airport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe dangers Russia poses are clear,\u201d Rutte said.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Berlin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/germany-blames-russia-leipzig-drone-attack-retaliatory-measures\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">attributed an attempted Aug. 4 attack<\/a> in Leipzig to Russia.
