{"id":219425,"date":"2026-09-08T06:23:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T06:23:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/219425\/"},"modified":"2026-09-08T06:23:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T06:23:12","slug":"meta-under-fire-as-facebook-fails-to-remove-homophobic-abuse-in-hungary-euobserver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/219425\/","title":{"rendered":"Meta under fire as Facebook fails to remove homophobic abuse in Hungary \u2013 EUobserver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Homophobic and hateful content on Facebook has become a contributing driver of psychological distress for the LGBTQI community in Hungary, who were already the target of former prime minister Viktor Orb\u00e1n\u2019s gender war policies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBeat them to death immediately\u201d, \u201cI would shoot this\u201d, or \u201cDeath to the extreme genderfluid vermin,\u201d are some of the statements found on Facebook by the <a href=\"http:\/\/tracking.press.amnesty.org\/tracking\/click?d=YPr0wUybHUWNrRoG9Ez_pQMxtTGDvquSLPtgPlMoSyh9mTKgRuHWuw7-cjH4ln5LrEhS2l0BvRtzqZu0ApIsXw0cwqbLJGIxAOcawYTc6YLceMwo8e5Allx86wpifwEo2w2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">H\u00e1tt\u00e9r Society<\/a>, a Hungarian LGBTI+ rights organisation.
