Real America\u2019s Voice News replaces CNN on Air Force One amid escalating tensions between Trump and US media.<\/p>\n

CNN has been barred from flying on Air Force One to cover President Donald Trump on behalf of major television networks, the latest media restriction by the White House.<\/p>\n

CNN was replaced by Real America\u2019s Voice News, a conservative outlet, for the president\u2019s trip to attend a college football game in Knoxville, Tennessee, according to White House guidance.<\/p>\n

Last week, Trump announced he banned CNN, MS NOW and Politico<\/a> from White House grounds.<\/p>\n

The White House press pool<\/a> consists of five major broadcast outlets that take turns recording and distributing video. In a show of solidarity, the other four providers \u2013 Fox, ABC, CBS and NBC \u2013 declined to participate in the pool until access was restored.<\/p>\n

The three barred news outlets responded<\/a> to Trump\u2019s ban with a lawsuit alleging the White House violated their First Amendment rights.<\/p>\n

\u201cLeft unchallenged, this threatens press freedom and the public\u2019s right to independent journalism free from government interference,\u201d their statement said.<\/p>\n

US District Judge Timothy Kelly temporarily struck down<\/a> the ban in an overnight ruling early on Thursday, saying the government\u2019s argument lacked \u201cfactual support\u201d for the claim that the outlets were barred to protect national security.<\/p>\n

\u201cDefendants offer no declarations or other support \u2013 classified or unclassified \u2013 explaining how any of the reporting they identified in their letters to Plaintiffs damaged the national security,\u201d Kelly said in the ruling.<\/p>\n

The judge\u2019s decision addressed press passes to the White House and did not directly mention pool duties or Air Force One.<\/p>\n

Earlier on Friday, the news outlets\u2019 attorney Theodore Boutrous Jr said on CNN\u2019s \u201cThe Lead with Jake Tapper\u201d that the plaintiffs believe the judge\u2019s ruling also covers the issue of pool access.<\/p>\n
