Hunter Biden<\/a> has weighed in on President Donald Trump<\/a> and his family allegedly profiteering from the presidency and riding roughshod over conflict-of-interest concerns raised by his return to power.<\/p>\n

In a new interview with Luke Radel for MeidasTouch<\/a>, Biden was asked about members of the Trump family \u201cprofiting\u201d from controlling the levers of power, with the president\u2019s son-in-law, Jared Kushner\u2019s, regular involvement in peace talks in parts of the world where he has real estate interests given as an example.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, their hypocrisy knows no bounds, is the way that I look at it,\u201d he answered. \u201cIt\u2019s almost too much to keep up with, every single day, whether it\u2019s the World Liberty Financial news that just came out, how they took loans against their own token.\u201d<\/p>\n

He was referring to CoinDesk\u2019s report<\/a> last week alleging that the family\u2019s cryptocurrency venture used 5 billion of its own tokens to borrow $75 million on the Dolemite leading platform, which was co-founded by WLF adviser Corey Caplan.<\/p>\n

Biden went on to stress that he was not opposed to crypto per se and believes \u201cthe blockchain is the future\u201d and that Democrats should take a more enlightened view on the matter to reach younger voters, but felt the Trumps had been allowed to steal a march on the sector and had \u201ccorrupted it, almost completely.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cWhether it\u2019s Don Jr\u2019s pay-for-play executive club in Georgetown<\/a> or whether it\u2019s the defense contracts that they\u2019re getting for startup drone companies<\/a> with Israeli technology or building towers in Saudi Arabia<\/a> and in the Emirates…<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just literally\u2026 almost on a daily basis, you realize that, as I\u2019ve said to people, I will be surprised when they leave the White House if they have not taken the copper pipes out of the walls.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reuters reported Tuesday that Eric Trump will be accompanying his father on his diplomatic mission to China<\/a> in mid-May.<\/p>\n

White House spokeswoman Olivia Wales told The Independent: \u201cPresident Trump is one of the most successful businessmen in the world, yet he was willing to set aside his real estate empire to run for President and save our great country. The only special interest guiding President Trump is the best interest of the American people.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Independent also reached out to the Trump Organization for comment.<\/p>\n

The troubled son of former president Joe Biden endured years of baseless smears from Trump about his alleged influence peddling and was the subject of a spurious investigation led by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer into what he called \u201cthe Biden crime family,\u201d which ultimately yielded no proof of wrongdoing or charges.<\/p>\n

The feud between the two families was revived last week when Hunter Biden unexpectedly challenged Donald Trump Jr<\/a> and Eric Trump<\/a>, who are running the Trump Organization<\/a> while their father is in the White House, to a cage fight<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the interview, Hunter Biden said he was \u201cdisappointed in much of the Democratic Party and the leadership in Congress and the United States Senate\u201d over the failure, so far, to stand up to Trump.<\/p>\n

He added that he was looking at state governors Gavin Newsom, Josh Shapiro, and Andy Beshear as possible Democratic presidential nominees<\/a> for 2028, and said he had been \u201cabsolutely completely inspired\u201d<\/a> by Zohran Mamdani\u2019s winning campaign to become New York City mayor late last year.<\/p>\n

Biden was also asked whether he believed there should be reforms to the presidential pardon system, given Trump\u2019s liberal use of it.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be honest, I don\u2019t know whether I can be the one to fairly assess that,\u201d he answered<\/a> carefully, having received a pardon from his own father. \u201cObviously, I\u2019m completely biased as it relates to what my dad did for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then added, \u201cI don\u2019t think that the founders ever imagined Donald Trump.
