Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian\u2019s ex, Tristan Thompson, revealed this week which member of the Trump family he\u2019s become \u201cvery close\u201d with.<\/p>\n

During Tuesday\u2019s episode of \u201dThe Katie Miller Podcast\u201d<\/a>, the former Cleveland Cavalier spoke highly of his connection to the president\u2019s son Eric Trump after being asked to name a celebrity with whom he\u2019s close that people wouldn\u2019t expect. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very close with Eric. He\u2019s been actually great for me. He\u2019s been like a big brother, mentor, been very welcoming,\u201d Thompson replied. <\/p>\n

Thompson shared that spending time with Trump\u2019s third-oldest child has motivated him to \u201cdive into\u201d politics more. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s just someone I would say, especially from, you know, the political government world that\u2019s really put his arm around me and made me, you know, he\u2019s kind of helped motivate me to want to dive into this realm a little bit more,\u201d Thompson continued. <\/p>\n

After Miller asked the Canadian-American hooper his thoughts on the president\u2019s \u201ccrackdown on illegal aliens,\u201d Thompson had nothing but praise. <\/p>\n

\u201cFirst of all, I love what he\u2019s done so far for our country. I think he\u2019s helped our country a lot,\u201d the one-time NBA champion said. <\/p>\n

Thompson shares two children with Kardashian: 7-year-old daughter True and 3-year-old son Tatum. The NBA player and the reality star, who first started dating in 2016, had a rocky on-and-off relationship plagued by multiple public infidelity scandals.<\/p>\n

HuffPost has reached out to reps for Kardashian and the White House for comment.<\/p>\n

Kardashian opened up about co-parenting with Thompson after being asked on her \u201cKhloe In Wonder Land\u201d<\/a> podcast last year about rumors that the pair were romantically reconciling. <\/p>\n

Noting that their co-parenting relationship is strictly \u201cabout the kids,\u201d she added during the Nov. 19 episode, \u201cI love that he has a great relationship with his kids \u2026 I think that\u2019s a beautiful blessing. I\u2019m never going to get in the way of that.
