Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick warns Elon Musk that AI could take over his job. Zelnick addressed a question on the impact of AI and whether it will replace humans during the Semafor World Economy 2026. This comes after the Tesla boss insinuated that AI could generate GTA<\/a>. For those unversed, GTA is handled by Rockstar Games, a subsidiary of the parent company, Take-Two.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Take-Two CEO warns AI can take Elon Musk\u2019s job<\/p>\n

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick suggested that AI could take over Elon Musk<\/a>\u2019s job. He shared, \u201cIf AI were going to get rid of employment, the richest man on Earth, Elon Musk, knows a little something about AI, last time I checked. He has unlimited financial resources, and he has unlimited human resources, and he has, apparently, an unlimited number of ideas. He knows his way around AI.\u201d<\/p>\n

Continuing further, Zelnick remarked, \u201cThe man works 20 hours a day. If AI were going to take anyone\u2019s job, wouldn\u2019t it take his job? The richest guy on Earth, wouldn\u2019t that be job number one for AI to take? Why is he so busy? By the way, why am I working harder than ever despite the fact that I\u2019ve totally accepted AI into every part of my life?\u201d (via IGN India<\/a>).<\/p>\n

This comment appears to be a subtle shade at Musk. It comes after the Tesla owner insinuated that AI could be used to generate GTA 6. A user named Tim Sweeney tweeted<\/a>, \u201cWe have text-to-image and text-to-video, so text-to-GTA is the next logical step in generative AI.\u201d Musk replied<\/a>, \u201cYou won\u2019t even have to ask. AI will figure what video game you\u2019d like best.\u201d<\/p>\n

GTA 6, short for Grand Theft Auto VI, is an upcoming action-adventure game developed and published by Rockstar Games. It was supposed to be released in May this year, but it was postponed to November 2026. As of now, the announced release date is November 19.<\/p>\n

In March 2026, Zelnick gave a more direct response to Musk, who had suggested that AI may generate video games. Zelnick retorted, \u201cThese tools may help you create assets, but that won\u2019t help you create hits.\u201d<\/p>\n
