Over the past few years, many have expressed their disapproval of the use of AI in Hollywood productions. Most recently, Reese Witherspoon and Sandra Bullock have encouraged people to embrace AI.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman talks about AI’s impact on Hollywood

At the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony on April 18, Sam Altman spoke to Variety‘s Marc Malkin about AI’s impact on Hollywood. When Malkin asked about the industry’s concern that AI will lead to job cuts and a decline in creativity, Altman replied, “I think people really care about other people.”

“I think people really care about the human beings behind the stories and the art and the creative work that matters so much, so my instinct is it’s going to go the other way and people will care more about humans and more about human creators in the future, not less,” Altman added. He also revealed that he has been speaking to Hollywood insiders “not infrequently.”

The 40-year-old said, “We do hear a lot from creatives who are like, ‘I have these new ideas. I want to give input into the next model. I want these things to be possible.” Disney was planning to launch its characters on the Sora video-gen platform.

However, last month, Altman informed the studio’s CEO, Josh D’Amaro, that he was taking down the platform. While Disney canceled its $1 billion investment in the AI company after Sora was shut down, it is still looking forward to working together with OpenAI.

Marc Malkin also asked Altman about his views on Val Kilmer’s resurrection for the movie, As Deep as the Grave. The OpenAI CEO replied, “I don’t think I’m the best person to answer that question. I probably have no deep insight there that people in this room don’t have better things to say about it.”

The post OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Breaks Silence on AI in Hollywood appeared first on Mandatory.

Photo Credit: Tayfun Coskun/Anadolu via Getty Images OpenAI CEO Sam Altman believes that AI is a boon for…

[150
2984,3501,23956,23954,20106,581,23955
post-39228","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-sam-altman","tag-ai-company","tag-hollywood","tag-hollywood-productions","tag-marc-malkin","tag-reese-witherspoon","tag-sam-altman","tag-sandra-bullock
["GET
