A 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.propublica.org\/nonprofits\/organizations\/873323607\/202543159349304074\/full\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">tax filing<\/a> indicated that Catalyst4 held roughly a 95% stake across multiple Nexus investment vehicles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">The VC firm, Nexus, had approximately 15 companies in its portfolio. <\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">&#8220;Our companies have already helped more than 200,000 individuals. In addition, the body of clinical studies arising from this portfolio  \u2014 currently 50+ ongoing studies \u2014 demonstrates the strong pipeline that has been created, providing a rigorous scientific foundation that has already yielded significant breakthroughs,&#8221; Parramon wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">Brin is currently the world&#8217;s fourth-richest individual, with a net worth of $269 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.<\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">The Google co-founder has spent decades supporting brain research, including studies on Parkinson&#8217;s disease, a central focus of his philanthropy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">Forbes reported Brin has contributed at least $1.75 billion toward advancing understanding of the condition, driven by his own genetic risk mutation and his mother\u2019s diagnosis.
