Security researchers were able to extract the entire location history of a\u00a0<a class=\"ck-custom-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/cars\/hybrid-electric-cars\/byd-seal-review-chinese-contender-to-tesla\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">BYD Seal car<\/a> sold in the UK, from its production in China to its eventual dismantling. While the company said it was not transmitting location data overseas, experts said the ease with which location history could be obtained represented a security risk. <a class=\"ck-custom-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/business\/2026\/01\/06\/one-in-four-electric-cars-sold-in-britain-are-chinese\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Britain has welcomed the arrival of cheap Chinese cars<\/a>, resisting pressure to put tariffs on them, although EVs are banned from some military sites owing to security fears. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/business\/2026\/04\/25\/chinese-electric-car-records-everywhere-youve-been\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Telegraph\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The bitter rivalry between two of the tech world\u2019s most powerful men arrives in court this week, as Elon Musk\u2019s lawsuit against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/sam-altman\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sam Altman<\/a> and OpenAI heads to trial in Oakland, California. The case is set to feature some of the biggest names in Silicon Valley, and its outcome could affect the course of the AI boom. Musk\u2019s suit, filed in 2024, focuses on the formative years of OpenAI when he, Altman and others co-founded the artificial intelligence company as a nonprofit with a grand purpose. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/2026\/apr\/26\/musk-altman-openai-court\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Guardian\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It\u2019s not often a thousand-word social media post from a US tech firm goes viral. But the post from Palantir \u2013 a 22-point manifesto of sorts \u2013 currently has over 30 million views on X. It is the work of the controversial company\u2019s co-founder and chief executive, who has criticised the belief that all cultures are equal and called for universal national service. Alex Karp also called the disarmament of Germany and Japan after World War Two an \u201covercorrection\u201d, backed AI weapons and condemned \u201cruthless exposure\u201d of the private lives of public figures. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c4gjkj7975po\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BBC\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.techdigest.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Freelander-8.webp?ssl=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-289378 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Freelander-8.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"655\" height=\"368\"  \/><\/a><br \/>The Freelander 8 has been revealed \u2013 the first production model from a controversial joint venture between Land Rover and Chery, parent company of Jaecoo and Omoda.\u00a0 Arriving shortly after the striking Concept 97, this new Freelander 8 is the first of six new production models, and none will wear any form of Land Rover badge. While this specific model is still not confirmed for the UK, we do now know it\u2019ll be built in right-hand drive, and legislated for Europe. Put two and two together, and we might yet see Freelander in the UK. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoexpress.co.uk\/news\/363489\/its-not-land-rover-new-freelander-8-revealed-and-its-huge\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AutoExpress <\/a><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"automatic\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phonearena.com\/tim-cook-apple\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tim Cook<\/a>\u00a0is\u00a0<a class=\"internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phonearena.com\/news\/apple-announces-new-ceo-tim-cook-takes-off-historic-crown_id179792\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">stepping down as CEO of Apple<\/a> in September, which has sparked a lot of discussion about his legacy. At a recent town hall meeting with employees, he admitted some of his mistakes and shared what he considers his proudest moment of his tenure. Speaking to employees,\u00a0Tim Cook\u00a0said that his \u201cfirst really big mistake\u201d as CEO of Apple was the launch of Apple Maps on the iPhone in 2012.
