Happened to me, a little bit. A suspect was taken into custody and identified as Cole Tomas Allen, 31, of Torrance, California.Trump said he himself was undoubtedly the target. The presidency is \u201ca dangerous profession,\u201d he said, noting that violence associated with politics had escalated in the U.S. and around the world. \u201dNo country is immune.&#8221;Trump suggested it was a sign of how successful his presidency has been.\u201cI\u2019ve studied assassinations, and I must tell you the most impactful people \u2014 the people who do the most, take a look at Abraham Lincoln,\u201d Trump said. He added: \u201cThe people that make the biggest impact, they\u2019re the ones that they go after. They don\u2019t go after the ones that don\u2019t do much.\u201dThe president called for Americans to put aside their differences and unite \u2014 a break from his usual gleefully combative political tack.\u201cWe have to, we have to resolve our differences,\u201d Trump said. \u201cI will say, you had Republicans, Democrats, independents, conservatives, liberals and progressives. Those words are interchangeable, perhaps, but maybe they\u2019re not. But yet everybody in that room, big crowd, record-setting crowd, there was a record-setting group of people, and there was a tremendous amount of love and coming together. I watched, I watched, and I was very, very impressed by that.\u201dTrump says he would have changed course and made \u2018a speech of love\u2019The president kept up a similar tone during a Sunday interview with Fox News Channel, calling the dinner \u201can evening where a lot of people got together.\u201d\u201cI saw some Democrats, as we were leaving \u2014 and they were generally hostile \u2014 and last night they were waving to me. Politicians, congressmen, senators. They were waving and saying, \u2018Great going\u2019 and \u2018Hello,\u2019\u201d Trump said. \u201cThe place was just coming together.
