The business has signed onto a <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.customersbank.com\/investor-relations\/press-releases\/press-release\/Customers-Bank-Announces-Strategic-Collaboration-with-OpenAI-to-Redefine-the-Commercial-Banking-Operating-Model-1778\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.customersbank.com\/investor-relations\/press-releases\/press-release\/Customers-Bank-Announces-Strategic-Collaboration-with-OpenAI-to-Redefine-the-Commercial-Banking-Operating-Model-1778\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">multi-year contract with<\/a> OpenAI to ramp up its tech innovation; the Silicon Valley giant will embed engineers at the company and deploy AI agents across commercial banking operations, making it one of the \u201cfirst AI-enabled regional banks in the United States,\u201d the company\u2019s <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.customersbank.com\/investor-relations\/press-releases\/press-release\/Customers-Bank-Announces-Strategic-Collaboration-with-OpenAI-to-Redefine-the-Commercial-Banking-Operating-Model-1778\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.customersbank.com\/investor-relations\/press-releases\/press-release\/Customers-Bank-Announces-Strategic-Collaboration-with-OpenAI-to-Redefine-the-Commercial-Banking-Operating-Model-1778\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">press release<\/a> said. The business also noted that it\u2019s years into its transformation\u2014its partnership with OpenAI began in 2023 with the bank\u2019s deployment of ChatGPT Enterprise\u2014and today 75% of its employees use tools powered by the AI company.\u00a0Around 600 workers also recently took part in an AI masterclass call.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re investing heavily\u00a0in making sure every member of our team\u00a0has access to AI tools and the training to use them confidently,\u201d the CEO of Customers <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/bancorp\/\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/bancorp\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Bancorp<\/a> Inc. and Customers Bank tells Fortune in a written statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is something our people are leaning into,\u201d Sidhu continues.\u00a0\u201cThe goal is to\u00a0remove the\u00a0repetitive, administrative work so our people can focus on what they do best\u2014we\u2019re not replacing critical thinking and judgment, we\u2019re removing the tedious, time-consuming work that gets in the way of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The CEOs launching AI clones<\/p>\n<p>The Customers Bank CEO isn\u2019t the only business leader tapping their digital twin on the job\u2014now, tech clones of chief executives are being built to assist with employee engagement, earnings calls, and internal communication.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/facebook\/\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/facebook\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Meta<\/a> made headlines for building an AI version of its CEO Mark Zuckerberg, to engage with employees at the $1.71 trillion tech giant, <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/02107c23-6c7a-4c19-b8e2-b45f4bb9ce5f?syn-25a6b1a6=1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/02107c23-6c7a-4c19-b8e2-b45f4bb9ce5f?syn-25a6b1a6=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according to the<\/a> Financial Times. Zuckerberg\u2019s clone is just one of the AI-powered 3D characters the business is developing, which users can interact with on a whim. Meta staffers could potentially converse with and get feedback from the virtual double trained on his mannerisms, tone, public statements, and sentiments about the company\u2019s strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Other companies have already deployed AI clones of their leaders in a similar fashion to Customers Bank. At the start of 2025, <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/article\/klarna-ceo-feels-gloomy-ai-could-do-his-job\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/article\/klarna-ceo-feels-gloomy-ai-could-do-his-job\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an AI version of<\/a> Klarna\u2019s cofounder and CEO, Sebastian Siemiatkowski, was used in a video about the company\u2019s first-quarter earnings. And it\u2019s just one facet of what may change during the buy-now-pay-later business\u2019s tech transformation\u2014thanks to efficiencies from AI, the CEO <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/02\/17\/klarnas-ceo-dario-amodei-ai-white-collar-workforce-shrink-2030\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/02\/17\/klarnas-ceo-dario-amodei-ai-white-collar-workforce-shrink-2030\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">predicted his workforce<\/a> will decrease from 3,000 employees to fewer than 2,000 by 2030.<\/p>\n<p><a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/zoom\/\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/zoom\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Zoom<\/a> chief executive Eric Yuan has also caught onto the trend\u2014he enlisted an AI double of himself for the video conferencing platform\u2019s first-quarter earnings call earlier this year.
