Powell would continue as a Fed governor, possibly until January 2028.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">US Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro said on social media on Friday that her office was ending its probe into the Fed\u2019s extensive building renovations because the Fed\u2019s inspector general would scrutinise them instead.
