{"id":51990,"date":"2026-05-01T06:29:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-01T06:29:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/51990\/"},"modified":"2026-05-01T06:29:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T06:29:09","slug":"elon-musks-spacex-could-be-fast-tracked-into-sp-500-after-ipo-under-proposed-rule-changes-tesla-nasd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/51990\/","title":{"rendered":"Elon Musk&#8217;s SpaceX Could Be Fast-Tracked Into S&#038;P 500 After IPO Under Proposed Rule Changes &#8211; Tesla (NASD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"block core-block\">The S&amp;P 500, managed by S&amp;P Global Dow Jones Indices, on Thursday, announced it was beginning consultation on rule changes that could potentially help Elon Musk-led SpaceX gain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/news\/space\/26\/03\/51232917\/sp-500-rule-change-could-boost-elon-musk-led-spacexs-entry-into-index-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">an expedited entry<\/a> into the index.<\/p>\n<p>S&amp;P 500 Rule Changes<\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">The rule changes include letting IPOs enter the index six months after their debut on an eligible index instead of a 12-month period, according to current rules.<\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">The index also proposed eliminating a minimum Investable Weight Factor (IWF) of 0.10 for megacap companies. The IWF is a methodology used to calculate the number of shares of a company available to trade on the market. <\/p>\n<p class=\"block core-block\">Notably, the proposed rule changes also eliminate profitability requirements for megacap companies.
