Alyssa Farah Griffin<\/a> is not immediately poo-pooing the reported reboot of The Apprentice<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The View<\/a> tackled a recent report from The Wall Street Journal<\/a> that Amazon is \u201cdiscussing a potential reboot\u201d of the reality competition show originally hosted by Donald Trump<\/a>, with his son, Donald Trump Jr.<\/a> potentially being considered to succeed him as host. While Griffin said she\u2019s \u201cnot the audience for this\u201d and \u201cwill not be tuning in,\u201d she offered up how the show may have an audience for a certain time.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut before you throw your tomatoes, it\u2019s not the worst idea for a year or two. So hear me out here from a business perspective,\u201d she prefaced.<\/p>\n

Griffin explained that \u201c77 million people voted for Donald Trump,\u201d but only about \u201c20% of that are his diehard fans,\u201d who show their support in ways like purchasing his merchandise and seeing Melania\u2014which was also distributed by Amazon\u2014which she said \u201chad a huge opening\u201d which people were \u201csurprised\u201d by.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you get a fraction of those people for a year or two to watch this reboot of The Apprentice, great. My point would be, come 2028, I think the Trump fatigue is going to be very real,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019m not signing a 10-year deal for this show. I\u2019d maybe do, like, one year let\u2019s give it a trial run. But MAGA diehards will watch it, and then the rest of us can tune out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sara Haines<\/a> questioned Griffin\u2019s argument, noting that Griffin had \u201cjust pitched this story that was interesting about six out of 10 people don\u2019t even want to read anything with Donald Trump\u2019s name.\u201d<\/p>\n

Griffin replied, \u201cCorrect.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat kind of flies in the face of even a two-year deal, right?\u201d Haines asked.<\/p>\n

Sunny Hostin<\/a> agreed, \u201cYeah, why would they want to watch a show?\u201d<\/p>\n

Ana Navarro<\/a> cited Amazon\u2019s former CEO and current Executive Chair Jeff Bezos<\/a>\u2018 big pockets, noting that Bezos \u201cgave money to the inaugural committee\u201d and to Trump\u2019s ballroom, in addition to attending this week\u2019s State Dinner with the King and Queen.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not about making money or it\u2019s a hit or not,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s about how close can I get to Donald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n

Griffin quipped, \u201cAnd for one year, we can get some chaotic TV on Amazon.\u201d <\/p>\n
