\n\tIs Prime Video<\/a> rebooting The Apprentice<\/a>? <\/p>\n

\n\tAmazon<\/a>\u2019s Head of Unscripted and Documentary Television Jenn Levy remained quite coy while answering this question at Deadline\u2019s Reality TV Summit<\/a> on Friday, opting only to confirm that the series \u201cis not in active development\u201d at the moment. <\/p>\n

\n\tApprentice\u00a0revival talk began thanks to a\u00a0Wall Street Journal<\/a>\u00a0report late Wednesday. Per the report, executives at the streamer have been toying with the idea of bringing the series back with Donald Trump<\/a> Jr. as host, but it quickly became clear that these discussions were in the early stages after Don Jr. said he learned about it from the press.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring a press conference Thursday, President Donald Trump weighed in on whether he\u2019d like to see his son revive the competition series he hosted for 14 seasons.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe\u2019d be probably good,\u201d Trump said. \u201cHe\u2019s got a little charisma going. You need a little charisma for that sucker.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYeah, they told me about it, we\u2019ll see,\u201d the elder Trump concluded about a possible new life for the now-MGM<\/a>\u00a0TV-owned property created in 2004 by\u00a0Mark Burnett<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile news of a new\u00a0Apprentice\u00a0seemed to catch almost everyone outside the Rupert Murdoch-owned\u00a0WSJ\u00a0by surprise, sources close to Amazon have cautioned about reading too much into any return to the boardroom any time soon. Levy\u2019s public comments Friday only reaffirmed what a spokesperson told Deadline earlier this week.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSince our acquisition of MGM, we have had preliminary internal discussions about what\u2019s next for\u00a0The Apprentice\u00a0as a property,\u201d an Amazon spokesperson said. \u201cThe show is not in active development, and any reporting on details of the show or names of potential hosts would be purely speculative.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThat said, just because the reboot isn\u2019t currently in active development doesn\u2019t mean it won\u2019t happen.
