Rumors have been swirling that Amazon may be rebooting The Apprentice, this time with Donald Trump Jr.<\/a> as the host, and a spokesperson for the streamer has finally responded.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, April 29, The Wall Street Journal<\/a> reported that a source claimed that Amazon execs were considering casting President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s eldest son, Don Jr., in the role of host if the reality show was brought back.<\/p>\n

However, a statement obtained by People<\/a> the following day shut down the claims.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny reporting on details of the show or names of potential hosts would be purely speculative,\u201d the statement said, adding that a reboot of the series is not in active development.<\/p>\n

A rep for Amazon also told the publication, \u201cSince our acquisition of MGM, we have had preliminary internal discussions about what\u2019s next for The Apprentice as a property.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just last month Amazon began streaming episodes of the original series when the commander-in-chief, 79, was the host. He starred in the first 14 seasons of the show from 2004 to 2015.<\/p>\n

While it started as a show featuring regular business contestants, in season 8 it evolved into The Celebrity Apprentice<\/a>, where celebrities would compete for a charity of their choosing.<\/p>\n

The series featured plenty of well-known stars, including the late Joan Rivers, Piers Morgan<\/a>, Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian, Bret Michaels, Arsenio Hall and more.<\/p>\n
