\n\tThis week\u2019s episode of \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d began with a political cold open that brought Aziz Ansari<\/a> to the sketch show.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe segment opened with Ashley Padilla\u2019s Karoline Leavitt launching a press briefing at the White House.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAs some of you know, I\u2019m about to go on maternity leave. That\u2019s when you tell President Trump about your maternity, and he says, \u2018Leave,’\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\n\tLeavitt quickly ceded the mic to Colin Jost<\/a>\u2018s Pete Hegseth<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m not going to apologize because I wear my religion on my sleeve, literally,\u201d he said. \u201cI have a tattoo on my forearm of Jesus choking out Jimmy Kimmel.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tNear the end of his time on the mic, Hegseth said, \u201cIn summary, war is awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe then offered the podium to embattled FBI director Kash Patel, played by Ansari.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAfter the attempted assassination of President Trump \u2014\u00a0another one \u2014\u00a0we conducted an investigation that could not have been more thorough. We dotted every T and bulged every Eye,\u201d Patel said. \u201cAnd for those of you saying I\u2019m doing a bad job running the FBI, what if I just told you this agency is only six weeks away from pinpointing the exact location of Osama bin Laden?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnsari-as-Patel also bragged about his job so far.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m a trailblazer. I\u2019m the first Indian person to suck at their job. Everyone says, \u2018Indian people are smart, hardworking, incredibly intelligent,’\u201d Patel said. \u201cI prove without a shadow of a doubt that we can be just as incapable and incompetent as the whites.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe sketch ends with Hegseth and Patel both vehemently denying reports about their alcohol consumption.<\/p>\n
