{"id":60050,"date":"2026-05-06T21:45:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T21:45:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/60050\/"},"modified":"2026-05-06T21:45:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T21:45:14","slug":"bill-gates-makes-major-climate-change-reversal-after-years-of-doomerism-people-will-be-able-to-live-and-thrive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/60050\/","title":{"rendered":"Bill Gates makes major climate change reversal after years of doomerism: \u2018People will be able to live and thrive\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, who has spent more than a decade warning that the world was on the brink of unimaginable peril due to <a data-ylk=\"slk:rising global temperatures;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/04\/world-news\/sea-level-rise-not-caused-by-climate-change-study-claims\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">rising global temperatures<\/a>, now says climate change \u201cwill not lead to humanity\u2019s demise\u201d in a stunning reversal.<\/p>\n<p>Gates, 70, who has sunk billions of his vast fortune into initiatives ostensibly meant to combat global warming, penned a\u00a0<a data-ylk=\"slk:lengthy blog post;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gatesnotes.com\/home\/home-page-topic\/reader\/three-tough-truths-about-climate\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">lengthy blog post<\/a>\u00a0this week urging a shift away from the \u201cdoomsday outlook\u201d many climate activists have adopted to terrify nonbelievers into seeing things their way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough climate change will have serious consequences \u2014 particularly for people in the poorest countries \u2014 it will not lead to humanity\u2019s demise,\u201d he wrote. \u201cPeople will be able to live and thrive in most places on Earth for the foreseeable future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"standard-img w-full w-full h-auto\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/https:\/\/media.zenfs.com\/en\/aol_ny_post_us_news_articles_123\/2c04c1da1151042d14b526709c2b6992.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Bill Gates, who has spent decades warning about climate change, is softening his tone. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Gates, who just four years ago authored a book titled \u201cHow to Avoid a Climate Disaster\u201d and once said climate change \u201ccould be worse\u201d than the COVID-19 pandemic, now argues \u201cwe should measure success by our impact on human welfare more than our impact on the global temperature.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The control-alt-delete reset is a stark departure from his previous assertions that avoiding a climate disaster \u201cwill be one of the greatest challenges humans have ever taken on \u2014 greater than landing on the moon, greater than eradicating smallpox, even greater than putting a computer on every desk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The centibillionaire philanthropist\u2019s Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation has funneled huge sums of cash to companies working on reducing global greenhouse gas emissions, including\u00a0<a data-ylk=\"slk:bankrolling a Mr. Burns-esque technology;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/arielcohen\/2021\/01\/11\/bill-gates-backed-climate-solution-gains-traction-but-concerns-linger\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">bankrolling a Mr. Burns-esque technology<\/a>\u00a0to dim the sun and redirect its rays out of the atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s taken criticism for flying around the globe to trumpet our impending doom due to climate change in a $70 million private jet that spews around 450 gallons of fuel per hour, a hypocrisy he acknowledges in his post but assures he offsets his own staggering carbon footprint \u201cwith legitimate carbon credits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Astonishingly, Gates goes so far as to point out that cold \u2014 not heat \u2014 is a far greater threat to humanity, writing, \u201csurprisingly, excessive cold is far deadlier, killing nearly ten times more people every year than heat does.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He even noted some of the ways the obsessive focus on lowering greenhouse gas emissions has negatively impacted the very groups climate alarmists have warned would suffer most due to rising global temperatures.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"standard-img w-full w-full h-auto\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/https:\/\/media.zenfs.com\/en\/aol_ny_post_us_news_articles_123\/63657b0acd5e2a0ee2c78daf1140164b.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Microsoft billionaire said climate change will cause challenges for the world\u2019s poorest, but won\u2019t be the end of humanity.  AP<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA few years ago, the government of one low-income country set out to cut emissions by banning synthetic fertilizers.
