The goal of having White House team members come out to events like this is to motivate people to come out and vote not only in the primary but for the November midterms.<\/p>\n
Nunn said many people think his district could be competitive in November. <\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of people are gonna tell you this is a bellwether year, that Iowa 3rd is the most vulnerable in the country,\u201d Nunn said. <\/p>\n
But, he said, Iowans want results. <\/p>\n
\u201cAnd each of you in this room are gonna help us deliver a resounding win this November.\u201d<\/p>\n
Iowa has key races in the House, Senate and for governor. Republicans want to keep their recent run of dominance in place throughout the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m pro life, so that\u2019s always an important thing to hear what they\u2019re talking about and what they\u2019re doing with the conservative value that they\u2019re doing nationally that can also affect us here,\u201d said Corey Hutchins.<\/p>\n
Jessica Siewert said she was drawn by Vance\u2019s personal story.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did like a story he shared about his mom\u2019s struggle with addiction. Opioid addiction is a huge problem and that\u2019s what I\u2019m here to talk about today,\u201d Siewert said.<\/p>\n

Cancelled Iowa State event to be rescheduled<\/p>\n
Vance was supposed to make an appearance at a campaign event and a Turning Point USA event at Iowa State University<\/a> on Thursday alongside Erika Kirk<\/a>, widow of Turning Point USA\u2019s founder Charlie Kirk<\/a>. <\/p>\n The event was cancelled due to a \u201cscheduling conflict,\u201d according to Turning Point USA officials. <\/p>\n \u201cAdditionally, despite our best efforts, Iowa State University has informed us that, with students now entering prep week and final exams, they are unable to accommodate a rescheduled date this semester,\u201d the announcement added.<\/p>\n Turning Point USA said the Vance visit to Iowa State would be rescheduled for the fall.<\/p>\n Copyright 2026 KWQC.
