US President Donald Trump said that the US has Iran\u2019s enriched uranium<\/a> surveilled, and is prepared to take action if it receives intelligence that action is being taken at the site in an interview with Full Measure on Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When asked where the US is in the war without acquiring the uranium, Trump responded that the US would attain it \u201cat some point,\u201d and that the Space Force has the site under surveillance.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf anybody gets near the place, we will know about it, and we\u2019ll blow them up,\u201d Trump<\/a> said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Trump reiterated his commitment to stopping Iran from ever acquiring a nuclear weapon and emphasized how close Iran<\/a> was to such a goal before his intervention. Mentioning the attack on Iran, which took place in June of 2025, Trump claimed the operation stopped Iran when they were only two weeks away from a nuclear weapon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we didn\u2019t do that, they would have already blown up Israel,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

The Jerusalem Post has previously reported that Iran was not two weeks away from a nuclear weapon, as Trump stated, but was rather weeks away from having enough enriched nuclear uranium. Notably, the other elements for finishing a nuclear weapon would have taken at least one year, if not two.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Trump also discussed the Strait of Hormuz<\/a>, saying that the US does not rely on the waterway and that its operations there are done to aid allies in the region.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t need the strait. We were doing it to help Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, and others,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

Trump added that the US was now producing more oil and gas than Russia and Saudi Arabia combined and that he expects that number to double by the end of the year.<\/p>\n

Iran at ‘full readiness’ to protect nuclear sites<\/p>\n

An Iranian military spokesperson said that Iranian forces were on \u201cfull readiness\u201d to protect nuclear sites storing uranium in an interview with state news agency IRNA on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Brig. Gen. Akrami Nia told IRNA that Iran considered that the US might try to remove the uranium through infiltration or an airborne operation.<\/p>\n

‘You go in and you take it out’<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized the importance of extracting enriched uranium in an excerpt from an interview that will air on CBS later on Sunday.<\/p>\n

“We’ve degraded a lot of it. But all that is still there, and there’s work to be done,” Netanyahu said, and added that the best course forward is “you go in, and you take it out.”<\/p>\n
