Jeff Bezos<\/a> and Lauren S\u00e1nchez Bezos<\/a> reportedly spent $10 million to sponsor this year\u2019s Met Gala<\/a>. For that kind of money, it turns out you can skip any of the parts that you don\u2019t want to do. While S\u00e1nchez Bezos walked the carpet in her John Singer Sargent\u2013inspired Schiaparelli gown, the Amazon founder was nowhere to be found. Bezos was fully MIA until later in the evening, when he was photographed inside the gala with his sister-in-law Elena S\u00e1nchez Blair. Sneaking in through the back is certainly one way to attend the party you are ostensibly throwing.<\/p>\n Since he successfully avoided protesters and most of the paparazzi, this is the only photo we have so far of Bezos\u2019s look. Unsurprisingly, he didn\u2019t even attempt to do anything with the \u201cFashion Is Art\u201d dress code, opting instead for the most normal tuxedo of all time. The most out-there part of his whole look is his beard, which, when paired with the tux, sort of makes him look like the kind of guy who tries to poison James Bond.<\/p>\n Next year, I think Bezos should have to walk the carpet like everyone else and be on theme. Maybe people would like him if he showed up in an out-there look that perfectly encapsulated the year\u2019s theme.
