Sergey Brin\u2019s \u201cMAGA girlfriend\u201d <\/a>is pushing back on claims that she dragged the Google co-founder to the political right, insisting the billionaire tech mogul\u2019s political change of heart <\/a>can be laid squarely at the feet of Democrats.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Democrats red-pilled him. I didn\u2019t have to do anything,\u201d Gerelyn \u201cGG\u201d Gilbert-Soto told Bari Weiss\u2019s online publication The Free Press last week.<\/a><\/p>\n

The 32-year-old wellness guru added: \u201cHe has a mind of his own. If I could control him, I\u2019d be married with a baby right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gilbert-Soto \u2014 whom President Trump once called<\/a> Brin\u2019s \u201creally wonderful MAGA girlfriend\u201d \u2014 spoke out after a recent New York Times report suggested she played a key role in the tech billionaire\u2019s transformation from Democrat sympathizer to backer of Republican causes and Trump.<\/p>\n

The wellness influencer and self-described \u201cMarco Rubio Republican\u201d insisted Brin\u2019s political evolution was already underway before the pair started dating three years ago.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIf he were some raging lib, he wouldn\u2019t be with me, and I wouldn\u2019t be with him,\u201d Gilbert-Soto told The Free Press.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t date someone who hasn\u2019t already moved over.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brin, 52, has increasingly aligned himself with Trump-world figures in recent years after once supporting liberal causes, environmental initiatives and Democratic politicians including former President Barack Obama.<\/p>\n

The Google co-founder was worth a whopping $313 billion on Bloomberg Billionaires Index as of Monday \u2014 placing him third on the list of the world\u2019s wealthiest moguls.<\/a><\/p>\n

President Trump once referred to Gerelyn \u201cGG\u201d Gilbert-Soto as Sergey Brin\u2019s \u201creally wonderful MAGA girlfriend.\u201d Instagram\/GG<\/p>\n

Silicon Valley billionaires like him inspired a proposed California wealth tax<\/a> on people worth at least $1.1 billion.<\/p>\n

Brin and Gilbert-Soto recently relocated to Nevada<\/a> from California and have campaigned aggressively against the proposed one-time 5% billionaire tax in the Golden State.<\/a><\/p>\n

According to reports, Brin has poured roughly $57 million into efforts<\/a> to defeat the measure and donated nearly $40,000 to Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s \u201cMAGA girlfriend\u201d nickname for Gilbert-Soto came at a White House dinner last year, according to the Times.<\/p>\n

She has embraced the label.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a proud MAGA girlfriend,\u201d she told The Free Press. \u201cPeople try to use the term as an insult, but all my views are pretty moderate. If I wanted to be popular, I would be a liberal.\u201d<\/p>\n

The interview paints Gilbert-Soto as an outspoken supporter of Trump and the \u201cMake America Healthy Again\u201d movement advocated by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.<\/p>\n

Gilbert-Soto said she voted for former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton while attending Mount Saint Mary\u2019s University in Los Angeles, but gradually became disillusioned with Dems during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Gilbert-Soto has described Trump as \u201ccharismatic,\u201d \u201csuper smart\u201d and \u201cextremely entertaining.\u201d Instagram\/GG<\/p>\n

\u201cNone of it made sense to me,\u201d she said of the pandemic response, adding that media coverage of Trump\u2019s comments after the 2017 white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va.,<\/a> also pushed her away from liberals.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought he was terrible, but now I love him,\u201d she said of the president.<\/p>\n

Gilbert-Soto described him as \u201ccharismatic,\u201d \u201csuper smart\u201d and \u201cextremely entertaining.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also argued that Brin\u2019s own experiences \u2014 including growing concerns about anti-Israel sentiment on the left following Hamas\u2019 Oct. 7, 2023 terror attack \u2014 played a major role in his political realignment.<\/p>\n

\u201cOctober 7 was also a big deal for him,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Brin, who emigrated from the Soviet Union as a child, has compared California\u2019s proposed billionaire tax<\/a> to socialism.<\/p>\n

\u201cI fled socialism with my family in 1979 and know the devastating, oppressive society it created in the Soviet Union,\u201d he recently told the New York Times.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want California to end up in the same place.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gilbert-Soto said she and Brin have made some political and philanthropic decisions together, including their donation to Hilton\u2019s gubernatorial campaign.<\/a><\/p>\n

Still, she maintained that Brin regularly rejects causes and donations she proposes.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the end of the day, it\u2019s his call,\u201d she said. \u201cHe\u2019s not gonna support something that he doesn\u2019t believe in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gilbert-Soto says Brin\u2019s frustration with Democrats and anti-Israel sentiment on the left helped drive his political shift. Instagram\/GG<\/p>\n

Gilbert-Soto said the pair met at a party in San Francisco after Burning Man in 2023 while Brin was navigating the fallout from his second divorce.<\/p>\n

She described the billionaire as socially awkward and far different from the ruthless image often projected onto tech moguls.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was trying so hard to be somebody that he\u2019s not on our first date,\u201d she told The Free Press. \u201cYou could tell he was a sweetheart trying to be a douche.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple now splits their time between Lake Tahoe, Nev., New York and Washington, DC, where Brin has become increasingly active in artificial intelligence policy discussions.<\/p>\n
