{"id":67089,"date":"2026-05-12T02:24:43","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T02:24:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/67089\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T02:24:43","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T02:24:43","slug":"erdogan-threatens-military-action-against-israel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/67089\/","title":{"rendered":"Erdogan Threatens Military Action Against Israel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/people\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/recep-tayip-erdogan-credit-wikimedia-commons-Mikhail-Klimentyev-cc-by-4.jpg\" alt=\"Tayip Erdogan President of Turkey\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1066\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Credit: Wikimedia Commons \/ Mikhail Klimentyev \/ CC BY 4<\/p>\n<p>Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Israel, on Sunday, of carrying out atrocities against Palestine and Lebanon and threatened potential military action against the Jewish state, similar to its past interventions in Karabakh and Libya.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe blood-stained genocide network continues to kill innocent children, women, and civilians without any rule or principle, ignoring all kinds of human values,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/greekreporter.com\/tag\/Erdogan\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Erdogan<\/a> alleged while addressing the International Asia-Political Parties Conference in Istanbul.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite the ceasefire, <a href=\"https:\/\/greekreporter.com\/tag\/Israel\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Israel<\/a> has forced 1.2 million Lebanese to leave their homes due to attacks on civilian settlements,\u201d Erdogan said, although both Israel and the United States reject claims of Lebanon being included in the current ceasefire with Iran.<\/p>\n<p>Erdogan went on to describe Israeli actions as \u201cbarbaric,\u201d while citing a controversial law recently passed by the Knesset to approve death penalties against terrorists, which the Turkish leader said was meant \u201conly for Palestinian prisoners.\u201d In responding to reporters later in the day, Erdogan escalated his rhetoric even further, suggesting that Ankara could choose to engage with Israel militarily.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must be strong to prevent Israel from doing this to Palestine,\u201d Erdogan said. \u201cJust as we entered <a href=\"https:\/\/greekreporter.com\/tag\/Karabakh\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Karabakh<\/a>, just as we entered Libya, we will do the same to them,\u201d he stated. \u201cThere is nothing to prevent us from doing it. We just need to be strong so that we can take these steps.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Israel accuses Erdogan of hypocrisy<\/p>\n<p>Responding to his comments, Israel\u2019s Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu (Otzma Yehudit) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arabnews.jp\/en\/middle-east\/article_168039\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">sharply condemned Erdogan\u2019s remarks<\/a> and moral high ground and accused the Turkish leader of hypocrisy, noting Turkey\u2019s history of territorial aggression in Cyprus and its treatment of minorities, particularly the Kurds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTurkey, which conquered Northern Cyprus and controls Kurdish territories in the east, dares to lecture us on morality. Turkey, which built its economy on the Armenian Genocide, dares to accuse us of genocide.
