Elon Musk has more to say about Christopher Nolan\u2019s \u201cThe Odyssey.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nolan spoke to Time<\/a> on Tuesday about his adaptation of Homer\u2019s epic, his first film since winning Best Picture and Best Director for \u201cOppenheimer.\u201d In the interview, Nolan confirmed the long-rumored casting of Lupita Nyong\u2019o as both Helen of Troy and her sister Clytemnestra in the adaptation.<\/p>\n

This confirmation drew the ire of right-wing figures like Matt Walsh, who proposed in a racially charged X post that \u201cnot one person on the planet actually thinks that Lupita Nyong\u2019o is \u2018the most beautiful woman in the world.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cChristopher Nolan knows that he would be called racist if he gave \u2018the most beautiful woman\u2019 role to a white woman,\u201d Walsh said on the platform owned by Musk. \u201cNolan is technically talented but a coward.\u201d Musk simply responded with the word \u201cTrue.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another user made a joke at the expense of trans actor Elliot Page, cast in \u2018The Odyssey\u201d as Achilles, by posting a meme challenging Achilles to open a pickle jar. Musk \u2014 estranged from his own transgender daughter, Vivian Wilson, who called him a \u201ca pathetic man-child<\/a>\u201d \u2014 called that meme a \u201cbanger.\u201d <\/p>\n

Musk responded to a handful of other posts criticizing \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d on Tuesday. When one account posted a fan cam of Brad Pitt in \u201cTroy\u201d saying that they were going to rewatch that instead of Nolan\u2019s upcoming blockbuster, Musk said, \u201cTroy is an epic movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

Musk has a history of criticizing Nolan and \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d over the film\u2019s casting decision. Back in January, the wealthiest man in the world said that \u201cChris Nolan has lost his integrity\u201d in response to a post that called his upcoming film \u201can insult to the author\u201d because of Nyong\u2019o\u2019s casting \u2014 the author, of course, being the poet Homer, who lived around the 8th century BC.<\/p>\n

Reps for the aforementioned actors did not immediately respond Tuesday to requests for comment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Odyssey\u201d releases in theaters on July 17, 2026. The film already sold out several opening screenings in IMAX 70mm<\/a> a year ahead of its release.<\/p>\n
