The model, who has attended the annual event five times, \u201cliked\u201d a Friday Instagram post<\/a> captioned, \u201cI love the ICE out pins<\/a> but you can\u2019t wear them to the\u00a0@jeffbezos\u00a0backed Met Gala!\u201d<\/p>\n Jeff Bezos and wife Lauren S\u00e1nchez<\/a> are the lead sponsors and honorary co-chairs of the event, which has a \u201cCostume Art\u201d theme<\/a> this year.<\/p>\n Bella Hadid, above in May 2022, sparked speculation she is boycotting the Met Gala 2026. Getty Images<\/p>\n In the post Hadid liked, influencer Meredith Lynch said she will be \u201cdragging [stars] in perpetuity\u201d for wearing pins to the red carpet because \u201cJeff Bezos is part of the reason we\u2019re in this f\u2013king mess.\u201d<\/p>\n She added, \u201cJeff Bezos supports this f\u2013king mess. \u2026 I know the funds from the Met Gala go to a good cause, but it is wild to me that this event is sponsored by Jeff Bezos, who has backed [President] Trump, who has slashed arts funding.\u201d<\/p>\n Lynch concluded by advising publicists to keep their clients away from the gala.<\/p>\n Hadid\u2019s rep did not respond to Page Six\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n \u201cThis event is sponsored by Jeff Bezos, who has backed Trump, who has slashed arts funding,\u201d Meredith Lynch said. Getty Images<\/p>\n Meryl Streep also sparked chatter earlier this month for declining an offer to be a Met Gala co-chair as she promotes \u201cThe Devil Wears Prada 2,\u201d<\/a> in which she plays a fictionalized Anna Wintour.<\/p>\n Wintour, 76, is one of this year\u2019s co-chairs, alongside Bezos, S\u00e1nchez, Beyonc\u00e9, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams.<\/p>\n Streep\u2019s rep pointed out to Page Six over the weekend that the Oscar winner, also 76, \u201chas been invited to the Met Gala for many years but has never attended.\u201d<\/p>\n The spokesperson added, \u201cWhile she appreciates Vogue and Anna and her incredible imagination and stamina, it has never quite been her scene.\u201d<\/p>\n While Meryl Streep won\u2019t be present, her rep told Page Six this has nothing to do with Bezos.
