President Donald Trump has assembled an elite group of CEOs \u2014 representing the pinnacle of American business \u2014 to join his high-stakes summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The roster speaks volumes about the current state of the U.S. economy and what\u2019s on the line in the coming days. Apple\u2019s Tim Cook is also making the trip. The outgoing CEO was in Beijing just last month to mark the company\u2019s 50th anniversary and has built a strong relationship with China.<\/p>\n

\nNvidia CEO Jensen Huang\u2019s late inclusion on Air Force One to China suggests that tech, and chips in particular may be a hot topic on the trip\u2026 The sector is well represented with Micron\u2019s Sanjay Mehrotra and Qualcomm\u2019s Cristiano Amon also on board Air Force\u2026 Mehrotra\u2019s presence may turn heads as China banned the use of Micron chips in critical infrastructure in 2023 through 2030.<\/p>\n

The presence of Tesla CEO Elon Musk is also interesting and adds to the emphasis on all things AI.<\/p>\n

But the elite cohort features almost as many financial company CEOs. Citi\u2019s Jane Fraser, Goldman Sachs\u2019 David Solomon, BlackRock\u2019s Larry Fink and Blackstone\u2019s Stephen Schwarzman were all name-dropped by Trump.<\/p>\n

American\u2019s manufacturing muscle will also be flexed \u2014 Boeing\u2019s Kelly Ortberg, GE Aerospace\u2019s Larry Culp are there too along with the CEO of private agricultural giant Cargill, Brian Sikes. Visa CEO Ryan McInerney, Meta President Dina Powell McCormick, Coherent CEO Jim Anderson and Illumina CEO Jacob Thaysen are also heading to China\u2026<\/p>\n

Trump said he will be asking Xi to \u201c\u2018open up\u2019 China so that these brilliant people can work their magic,\u201d in his Truth Social post.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a good list to be on.\n<\/p>\n
