There are always a lot of rumors about the Trump family dynamics. From whether US President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, actually get along to whether Barron Trump<\/a> gets along with his older siblings, people are always interested in the first family. It\u2019s a little bit on par for the course for families in the spotlight, and especially considering how much of a divisive figure Trump is.<\/p>\n

Melania Trump<\/a> recently offered some insight into her son Barron\u2019s relationship with one particular family member, her mother, Amalija Knavs. In written answers to\u00a0USA Today<\/a>,\u00a0the first lady revealed that the two share a \u201cdistinct bond\u201d that is very much about their Slovenian heritage. The first lady explained that her mother \u201cabsolutely\u201d helped to nurture Barron\u2019s connection to Slovenia.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth speaking the same language allowed them to communicate deeply and meaningfully,\u201d she said. Amalija Knavs, whom the first lady described as \u201cthe epitome of love and warmth,\u201d passed away in 2024 at the age of 78.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd for Barron, [she was] a grandmother who filled every moment with joy and wisdom. Every story she read to Barron sparked his imagination, and every game they played strengthened their bond. Her delicious meals were more than just food; they were a celebration of togetherness.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mother and Barron had a distinct bond, beginning with her gentle embrace. When Barron was young, they often cuddled, played Barron\u2019s favorite games, and read books together. I would often hear their laughter and personally felt their joy, knowing they were creating unforgettable memories together. Their connection was so magical. And I loved watching it,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

The reveal about this good relationship comes after reports that Barron\u2019s three older siblings<\/a>, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump, were reportedly not invited to his 20th birthday party.\u00a0Rob Shuter<\/a>\u00a0even reported back in March that the snub was intentional, and the culprit was Melania Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re not close \u2014 at all,\u201d\u00a0one source told Shuter.\u00a0\u201cThis wasn\u2019t an oversight. They were left off the list.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMelania<\/a> is in charge, and she wanted this to be about Barron \u2014 not about Donald Trump, and not about his other children,\u201d\u00a0an insider said about the reasoning behind the decision. \u201cThis was a small, controlled, private celebration,\u201d\u00a0the source added.\u00a0\u201cAnd certain people were simply not included.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barron has a significant age difference with his three older siblings. \u201cBarron didn\u2019t grow up with them in the same way,\u201d\u00a0the insider said.\u00a0\u201cThere isn\u2019t a real bond there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite this, the US President recently had good things to say about all his kids. During a televised interview on\u00a0Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson<\/a>, he was asked if he thought Barron would get into politics. \u201cWell maybe,\u201d Trump said. \u201cHe\u2019s certainly a popular guy, but I have a lot of members of my family that are very popular. You know, I have good kids. They\u2019re very good kids.\u201d<\/p>\n
