Michael Rapaport reaffirmed his plan to run for New York City mayor in 2029, slamming the incumbent, Zohran Mamdani, as the \u201cgreatest bull crapper in the history of politicians.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor and comedian, best known for his work in \u201cTrue Romance,\u201d \u201cPrison Break\u201d and \u201cAtypical,\u201d doubled down on his mayoral bid during an appearance on NewsNation Tuesday, where he promised to take on the current mayor with a \u201cNew York City street fight mentality.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI never thought that I would even consider running for mayor of New York City, and I will do it with the best intentions,\u201d Rapaport told host Chris Cuomo. \u201cAnd I won\u2019t do it the way any other political person has ever done it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThe only way to beat this guy is to make it and take it with New York City street fight mentality.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Rapaport went on, he explained that there was \u201cno way to out-nice\u201d Mamdani, adding, \u201cThere\u2019s no way to out-slick him. I think that he\u2019s the greatest bull crapper in the history of politicians \u2026 and that\u2019s saying a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut New York City needs to do something. We need to plan right now because 2029 is around the corner, and, yes, I\u2019m running for mayor of New York City,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd I will only drop out until I feel like there\u2019s somebody who\u2019s more qualified that could actually beat Zohran the moron.\u201d<\/p>\n

Per Rapaport, the mayoral race will need \u201cto be a dogfight\u201d and that \u201cit has to be ugly,\u201d as \u201cthere\u2019s no way to out-finesse this guy, out-smile this guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Representatives for Mamdani did not immediately respond to TheWrap\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n

Rapaport first announced his plan to run for mayor of New York City in a January episode of his podcast, titled, \u201cI Am Rapaport.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me tell you something, guys, girls, women, children of all ages. 2025 was crazy, and I don\u2019t see it getting any \u2026 calmer or cooler in 2026, the way things started,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cThat\u2019s why I\u2019m running for mayor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rapaport, a vocal critic of Mamdani\u2019s, also made the announcement on Instagram, writing<\/a>, \u201cBorn. Raised. NYC. Nothing\u2019s free. No bulls\u2013t. No fake grins. I\u2019ll own my mistakes, apologize when I screw up, and fight to make this city safe, affordable, and thriving.\u201d<\/p>\n
