\n\tWith all of the action on the Met Gala carpet, there was just as much going on right outside of its entrance. <\/p>\n
\n\tMidway through the stream of stars strutting up the iconic Met steps, a protester nearly crashed the carpet, getting as close as the pit of photographers before they were tackled by a number of police officers. The protester\u2019s signs were also ripped out of their hand and thrown behind a barricade.<\/p>\n
\n\tThis year\u2019s gala has faced plenty of public pushback\u00a0<\/a>due to Jeff Bezos<\/a>\u2018 involvement, as he and wife Lauren S\u00e1nchez Bezos serve as honorary chairs for the evening as well as are sponsoring the accompanying spring Costume Institute exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. <\/p>\n \n\tCritics accused the billionaire of buying influence with the major event and\u00a0speculation swirled<\/a>\u00a0that some stars may boycott the event due to his involvement.
