Hey Gavin \u2014 the problem isn\u2019t Chevron, it\u2019s California\u2019s stupid energy policies,\u201d the senator wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Chevron\u2019s good boy\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Newsom, who has been on an AI posting spree, responded with a fake image of Cruz as a literal lapdog for the oil company. \u201cChevron Cruz is a good boy,\u201d he wrote on X.<\/p>\n<p>The image features the senator with a tail, a dog tag with his name, sacks of money labeled \u201ccampaign donations\u201d and a plaque reading \u201cChevron\u2019s Good Boy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Newsom vs. Chevron<\/p>\n<p>Over the past several weeks, Newsom has been putting pressure on Chevron over the company\u2019s gas prices. As of Wednesday, May 27, Americans are paying an average of $4.459 per gallon, according to AAA.
