Hunter Biden<\/a>, the son of former President Joe Biden<\/a>, called out CNN anchor Jake Tapper<\/a> early Wednesday morning for \u201cattacking\u201d his stepmother, former First Lady Jill Biden, but not members of President Donald Trump\u2019s family.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo let me get this straight. Jake Tapper is focused on attacking my Mom,\u201d Biden tweeted Wednesday from his official X account<\/a>, before listing some of the recent actions taken by members of the Trump family. \u201cJared [Kushner] and Ivanka [Trump] are building a private island paradise<\/a> on Albanian protected land.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon Jr married the daughter of Epstein\u2019s banker, and a startup his fund backs just got a record $620M Pentagon loan,\u201d his tweet continued. \u201cEric [Trump] is taking an Israeli drone company public for $1.5B in the middle of a war with Iran that nobody wanted.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I know: \u2018But what about your paintings, Hunter?\u2019 Please,\u201d Biden dismissively concluded.<\/p>\n

So let me get this straight. <\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Tapper posted a video on CNN\u2019s official Instagram account<\/a> in which he heavily criticized and directly disputed some of the claims made by former First Lady Biden in her new memoir, \u201cView From the East Wing.\u201d She has been busy promoting the book this week, having already appeared on news programs and daytime shows like MS NOW\u2019s \u201cMorning Joe\u201d and ABC\u2019s \u201cThe View.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tapper began his video by quoting a passage from Biden\u2019s memoir in which she insisted that, contrary to what his critics believe, her husband would have willingly stepped down from presidential office if he had ever actually gotten to the point where he wasn\u2019t capable of doing the job anymore. She also insisted that she and members of his staff would not have allowed him to remain in his position if he had shown any signs of \u201ccognitive impairment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of that is very hard to believe, if not downright false,\u201d Tapper said in response, calling Biden \u201cthe Queen of Omission.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe most charitable interpretation of Jill Biden\u2019s book is that she\u2019s still having a difficult time, understandably, talking about what we\u2019re all seeing happen to [her husband] and what we\u2019ve all been seeing happen to him for years,\u201d he said. \u201cA less forgiving version is that she\u2019s been enabling it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, she\u2019s seeking to try to make an excuse for it, while also hinting here and there that were things going on that she maybe doesn\u2019t even want to acknowledge to herself,\u201d the CNN anchor added.<\/p>\n

In 2025, the Biden family publicly disclosed that the former president had been diagnosed with stage four cancer. Earlier this week, the former First Lady told the hosts of \u201cThe View\u201d that her husband could likely not have served another four years<\/a> as president even if he had been reelected in 2024. <\/p>\n
