Regional and Intercity trains involved
The accident involved a Polregio regional train, traveling on the Piła–Bydgoszcz route, and a PKP Intercity train, traveling on the Białogard–Warszawa Wschodnia route.
According to initial information from emergency services and the Polish press, the regional train reportedly struck the rear of the Intercity train.
The impact caused the last railcar of the Intercity train and part of the Polregio train to derail.

Over 16 fire crews on the scene
Over 16 fire crews were mobilized at the accident site, along with police, medical teams, and representatives of the rail operators.
A spokesperson for the Greater Poland Region Fire Department told local media that a triage procedure had been initiated at the scene to determine the number of people requiring medical care and the severity of their injuries.
According to initial reports, the injuries were not life-threatening, with reports of contusions and sprains. The injured passengers received treatment at the scene.
Service on the Piła–Bydgoszcz line suspended
The accident led to the suspension of rail service on the Piła–Bydgoszcz line.
PKP PLK, the Polish railway infrastructure manager, stated that service will resume only after the condition of the line and railway facilities has been inspected.
Technical teams have been dispatched to the area to assess any damage to the tracks and railway infrastructure.
For affected passengers, operators have begun arranging alternative transportation.

Initial reports indicate that it was not a head-on collision, but rather an impact that occurred during a maneuver or a track change, with the regional train striking the rear of the Intercity train.
