The Poland Township and Poland Village Police Department phone lines were temporarily unavailable on Saturday night.
The announcement was made on the Poland Township Police Department Facebook page.
Anyone in the region experiencing an emergency was encouraged to dial 911 or 330-259-1730 for non-emergencies.
Around 9 p.m., Poland Township Trustee Frank DeMain told 21 News that phone lines to both police departments were operational again.
As of nearly 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, several Valley residents are without power, according to the FirstEnergy website.
Across Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties, 5,705 people are in the dark. In Poland specifically, 274 customers are experiencing an outage.
Elsewhere in Mahoning County, 1,165 Springfield Township customers are without power. In Mahoning County alone, 3,824 people are reporting an outage.
The following outages are reported in other portions of the region:
Trumbull County – 1,670 customers
Columbiana County – 211 customers
Power to most communities experiencing an outage is expected to be restored by 10 p.m. or 11 p.m. on Saturday.
