Warsaw Chopin Airport is set to introduce an interesting new feature. Passengers arriving in the Polish capital will be able to use Uber’s electronic kiosks to book a ride without needing the app.
This week, Uber’s electronic kiosks – known as ‘tap to ride’ kiosks – will be launched at Warsaw Chopin Airport, according to a press release from the company. How do they work? The electronic kiosks will allow passengers to book an Uber journey from the airport to the city centre or any other specified destination without needing the app or an internet connection. All you need to do is select your destination on the kiosk, choose the type of journey and pay by card. The customer will receive all the necessary information for the journey on a printout and via text message.
‘Tap to ride’ kiosks could be a real boon for many passengers. There’s no need to have the Uber app on your phone or set up an account; you simply select your destination and pay quickly. Although Warsaw Airport offers Wi-Fi, an internet connection isn’t always available afterwards to track the journey and payment. Here, the whole process is handled for passengers, offering them a simple payment system and a hassle-free journey to their destination.
