11-year-old boy shot in East Price Hill Tuesday night, police sources say
CINCINNATI —
An 11-year-old boy is seriously injured after he was shot in East Price Hill on Tuesday night, multiple police sources confirmed to WLWT.
The investigation is centered around the 3700 block of Warsaw Avenue, with Cincinnati Police and SWAT responding to the scene around 8 p.m.
Police said the victim was taken to a hospital after the shooting and his condition hasn’t been released. Family members at the scene said the boy was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for surgery.
Police have not said if anyone has been arrested in the shooting yet, or what led to the shooting.
SWAT officers surrounded a home near the scene of the shooting on Tuesday night but began to leave the scene when police said the house was not occupied.
Video shared with WLWT from a witness shows the boy receiving CPR at the scene, before first responders could arrive. It also appears to show multiple other school-aged children near the scene.
A woman who witnessed the incident said a Metro bus driver was giving CPR to the child and she rushed in to help.
“First, I heard a gunshot, then I heard screaming and I kept hearing kids cry,” Anidra Lindsay said. ” When I got at the stop sign, I just completely froze up, jumped out the car, ran over there to help the Metro driver and tried to give him CPR.”
