A series of alarming incidents has pushed Warsaw to deliver a sharp diplomatic message, while officials point to a wider threat facing Europe.
Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Russian Ambassador Georgy Mikhno over recent acts of sabotage in Poland and Germany. Warsaw considers these incidents to be acts of state terrorism.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski made the statement at a joint press conference of the foreign ministers of the Weimar Triangle countries, held in Weimar, Germany. Poland also expressed support for Germany’s decision to close the Russian consulate in Bonn and the “Russian House” in Berlin.
We will not accept the unpunished testing of our borders or hostile acts on our territory. We will not accept arson, attacks on the railway, killings, or other provocations. Poland summoned the Russian ambassador to express its unequivocal condemnation of acts of state terrorism carried out by the Russian Federation.

Sikorski stressed that Russia, under Vladimir Putin’s leadership, remains one of the main threats to European security and the international order. According to him, Moscow is attempting to destroy the European security system and restore its imperial influence. For this reason, the minister added, cooperation with Russia in other areas is impossible until these intentions are abandoned.

Germany previously accused Russia of attempting to carry out an act of sabotage after a drone carrying explosives was found at Leipzig Airport. In Poland, Prime Minister Donald Tusk called the fire that broke out on August 30 at a drone manufacturing facility in Skarżysko-Kamienna an act of sabotage.
The possibility of deliberate arson at a facility in Lublin, where a fire also broke out that same day, has not been ruled out either. Polish authorities link these incidents to a broader campaign of hostile actions that, in their view, may be coordinated by Russia.
