Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced Poland’s cooperation with Ukraine aimed at creating a modern drone army, Interia Wydarzenia reports.
“I am proud that today, together with you, I can open this new chapter in the development of Polish security, and I am proud that our partner in this project is a country that has the greatest experience in what decides fate in the air today,” Tusk said at the “Road to URC” conference in Rzeszow, where he met with Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
He emphasized that during the conflict currently taking place, it was Ukraine that proved to be a partner for countries wishing to protect their airspace.
The Polish drone army, Tusk noted, should be a support for both the country and its allies. The goal is “to make this consequence of the war, unexpected for Russia, a factual leap over an entire technological era.”
“Poland must have an armada of drones so that we can not only help Ukraine today but also say with full confidence to Polish women and men: we are safe. We are safe also thanks to such initiatives as the one taking place in Rzeszow today,” he said.
