A late Sunday call revealed Warsaw’s willingness to host more American forces and a personal thanks for help freeing activist Andrzej Pocobut.
Donald Trump and Karol Nawrocki on Sunday evening held a phone call during which they discussed the presence of American troops in Poland.
According to official statements from the Office of the President of the Republic of Poland, the conversation highlighted the strength of the Polish-American alliance and a shared commitment to bolstering European security.
“Karol Nawrocki thanked the American leader for involvement and assistance in the release of Andrzej Pochobut. The presidents also discussed the current security situation. An important topic of the discussion was the issues related to the presence of American troops in Europe. Both leaders reaffirmed the strength and weight of the Polish-American alliance,”

At the same time, representatives of the Polish side stressed Warsaw’s readiness to welcome a larger number of American service members, which would strengthen the eastern flank of NATO. Currently, about 10,000 American service members are stationed in Poland on a rotational basis.
The discussion is taking place in the context of ongoing development of transatlantic relations and support for shared security priorities between Washington and Warsaw.
