WARSAW TWP. — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a fugitive who escaped from law enforcement on Tuesday.
Timothy Ryan Irvine, 36, of New Bethlehem, is wanted for recklessly endangering another person and absconding from Pennsylvania State Parole.
The sheriff’s office said Irvine is not known to be armed or violent, and does not believe there is any imminent threat to the public. However, residents are still asked to be on the lookout and notify authorities if he is seen.
On May 12, the sheriff’s office received a tip that Irvine had been seen at a residence on Williams Road in Warsaw Township, Jefferson County. A team approached the residence to apprehend him and positively identified him. However, when they confronted him, he reportedly fled the scene on foot into a heavily wooded area.
The sheriff contacted state police and the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department to respond to the scene with tracking K-9s; state police also assisted with their aviation unit. After approximately 8.5 hours, the search was called off.
The Jefferson County Department of Emergency Services was in communication with the Brookville and Brockway school districts during the incident to ensure necessary safety protocols were followed and all children were safe.
Irvine is described as a white man with dark brown hair, a mustache and goatee. He is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a slim build. He was shirtless and wearing blue jeans at the time he fled from deputies. He is likely to have lacerations over his face, chest, arms and hands from fleeing through thick brush; he was last seen with blood covering his chest. He is known to frequent the Falls Creek and Hazen areas.
Irvine has a bench warrant for failure to appear for court for the charges of recklessly endangering another person and summary offenses. The sheriff’s office will also be filing criminal charges in relation to Tuesday’s incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 814-849-1617. No one is to engage or attempt to apprehend him should he be sighted.
