On Saturday, May 30, the community in Poland came together to help beautify the downtown area as part of the nationwide celebration for the United States’ semiquincentennial anniversary.
Volunteers with the Beautification Committee of Poland’s Town One Range One were on-site to assist with planting red, white and blue flowers in the planter boxes near the parking lot of Huntington Bank alongside Main Street. This display is structured to help celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.
As part of the America 250 celebration, volunteers worked to put together planters filled with red, white and blue flowers along with patriotic fanfare.
Organizers said the volunteers’ work will also help with seasonal beauty throughout the Village.
“You’ll see things around town like, dead trees being taken down. Worn out signs have been removed. Pots will go up and then we’re going to do some other gardens around town so its a process all through 2026 to help beautify Poland,” Jim Merva, of the Poland Beautification Committee said.
The Beautification Committee of Poland’s Town One Range One assists in beautifying downtown Poland through community tree planting, lighting projects, landscaping and adding signage.
The village also has plans for a red, white and blue kickoff party on June 6.
