Secretary
\nof Defence Industries, Prof. Dr. Haluk G\u00f6rg\u00fcn, met with Poland’s Deputy Prime
\nMinister and Minister of National Defence W\u0142adys\u0142aw Kosiniak-Kamysz in Warsaw
\non June 11 to discuss the further expansion of bilateral defence industrial
\ncooperation, collaboration in unmanned systems, technology transfer
\nopportunities, and reciprocal investments. The meeting, held at the Polish
\nMinistry of National Defence, was attended by Deputy Minister of National
\nDefence Pawe\u0142 Bejda and the Head of the Armament Agency, Major General Artur
\nKuptel.<\/p>\n
Speaking to
\nthe press following the meeting, Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz praised T\u00fcrkiye’s
\nremarkable transformation in the defence sector, describing it as one of the
\nmost significant defence industrial success stories in the world.<\/p>\n
Polish
\nDefence Minister W\u0142adys\u0142aw Kosiniak-Kamysz: \u201cT\u00fcrkiye has achieved one of the
\ngreatest leaps in the world in the defense industry.\u201d<\/p>\n
Noting that
\nonly around 20% of equipment procured for the Turkish Armed Forces originated
\nfrom domestic industry two decades ago, compared to approximately 80% today,
\nKosiniak-Kamysz stated: \u201cThis is one of the greatest leaps achieved anywhere in
\nthe world. No other country has accomplished such a transformation on this
\nscale.\u201d He added that Poland is pursuing a similar path and closely follows the
\nexperience and achievements of its NATO ally T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n
According
\nto the Polish Defence Minister, one of the key topics discussed during the
\nmeeting was cooperation in unmanned systems and long-range precision strike
\ncapabilities. He emphasized that T\u00fcrkiye’s achievements in these fields are of
\nparticular interest to Poland and highlighted plans to further enhance the
\noperational capabilities of the Bayraktar unmanned aerial systems already in
\nservice with the Polish Armed Forces.<\/p>\n
Responding
\nto questions from journalists, Kosiniak-Kamysz said that technology transfer,
\ninformation exchange, and joint development opportunities constituted important
\nelements of the discussions. He noted that T\u00fcrkiye’s expertise in unmanned
\nsystems and long-range precision strike technologies could contribute
\nsignificantly to the development of Poland’s defence industrial capabilities.<\/p>\n
The two
\nsides also discussed opportunities for expanding bilateral industrial
\ncooperation through reciprocal investments. Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that
\nincreased Turkish investments in Poland and Polish investments in T\u00fcrkiye would
\nelevate bilateral relations to a new level.<\/p>\n
The Polish
\nDefence Minister further confirmed that the electronic warfare and
\ncounter-drone systems contract signed with ASELSAN last year is progressing
\naccording to schedule and without any major obstacles.<\/p>\n
Addressing
\nbroader security issues, Kosiniak-Kamysz underlined T\u00fcrkiye’s indispensable
\nrole in Europe’s future security architecture and argued that Europe’s
\nlong-term security framework cannot be durable without T\u00fcrkiye’s participation.
\nEmphasizing T\u00fcrkiye’s position as NATO’s second-largest military force, the
\nPolish Defence Minister expressed support for greater Turkish participation in
\nfuture European defence and security initiatives. He also announced that Poland
\nintends to play a significant role in the defence industry event being
