{"id":11972,"date":"2026-06-16T07:00:07","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T07:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/11972\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T07:00:07","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T07:00:07","slug":"eu-sanctions-on-israeli-minister-possible-poland-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/11972\/","title":{"rendered":"EU sanctions on Israeli minister possible, Poland says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"449\" alt=\"EU sanctions on Israeli minister possible, Poland says\" title=\"EU sanctions on Israeli minister possible, Poland says\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781592133.webp\" data-rjs=\"2\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Credit: Ammar Awad\/REUTERS<\/p>\n<p> Poland\u2019s foreign minister said the European Union could impose sanctions on Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, although member states have not yet reached the unanimity required for formal action. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking to reporters after a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg on Monday, Polish Foreign Minister Rados\u0142aw Sikorski said no formal vote had been held but that there appeared to be majority support for sanctions against Ben-Gvir, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.az\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">News.Az<\/a> reports, citing <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.polskieradio.pl\/395\/7785\/Artykul\/3698647,polish%20fm-says-israeli-minister-could-face-eu-sanctions\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Polskie Radio.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Poland has already\u00a0banned\u00a0Mr. Ben-Gvir from entering our country,\u201d Sikorski said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Technically speaking, that should mean he cannot enter the entire Schengen area, but there is also the question of whether he should be subject to formal European sanctions,&#8221;
